AboutJohanna Wagner is a filmmaker, who likes to explore different topics as well as visual mediums in her films. Her subjects are often on human psychology and mental illnesses and her visual style is signified by mixing genres and making hybrid films. She often uses animations in her films, and likes experimenting with the visuals, by distorting the image in different ways.
Johanna grew up in Sweden with a Swedish father and an English mother. In 2007 she moved to Scotland to commence Master Degree in Film directing at Edinburgh College of Art where she directed both a documentary and a fiction film. In 2009 she completed a documentary film Peter in Radioland funded by the scheme program Bridging the Gap run by Scottish Documentary Institute. Since 2008 Johanna has also worked as a freelance director, editor and cinematographer where she has made videos for various theatre companies, puppet animation companies, galleries and mental health organisations. Johanna is currently living in Malmö, Sweden and is working on her first feature length hybrid documentary, Walk A Mile In My Shoes |
